SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

As President of Odor Science & Engineering, Inc. (OS&E), Mr. Duffee actively provides consulting services to a diversified clientele. These clients include many of the Fortune 500 industrial corporations such as General Motors, General Electric, Pfizer and Anheuser-Busch, as well as numerous engineering firms. Mr. Duffee has worked with General Motors as a consultant on painting processes odor prevention and control since the early 1970s.

Prior to forming OS&E in 1987, Mr. Duffee was Vice-President and Chief Scientist of TRC-Environmental Consultants, Inc. a firm which he helped form in 1970.

Mr. Duffee spent thirteen years in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Battelle Memorial Institute Columbus Laboratories from 1956 through 1968 primarily engaged in odor research. His last position with that firm was Coordinator of Environmental Programs for the Columbus Laboratories.

He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Odors from Stationary and Mobile Sources. In August 1979, the Committee's report was published by the Government Printing Office. This report was prepared to assist the U.S. EPA in responding to the provisions of Section 403 (b) of the 1977 Amendments to the Clean Air Act, and represents EPA's report to the Congress. Mr. Duffee collaborated in preparation of Chapter Four, a textbook treatise on the techniques and instruments used to measure odors. He also drafted Chapter Five dealing with the atmospheric dispersion and modeling of odorants, and wrote the sections on odor control for the pulp and paper, petroleum, steel, foundries, food processing and chemical industries.

Member, Technical Committee on Odor Causes and Control, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, 1960-1973. Editor of Chapter 33, Odor Control, of the 1973 Systems Handbook.

Vice Chairman, Air Pollution Control Association's TT-4 Committee on Odors, 1979-April 1984.

Chairman, Air & Waste Management Association's EE-6 Committee on Odor, 1984-June, 1987-1989.

PUBLICATIONS

Mr. Duffee has authored more than 50 publications dealing with air pollution control, odor and industrial hygiene, including the ASHRAE Guide and Data Book Chapters on odor control.
